101 Copenhagen

101 Copenhagen is a Danish design brand founded in 2017. With a vision to celebrate refined quality and craftsmanship, the collection includes furniture, lighting and accessories in timeless yet contemporary designs. With a passion for materials and refined textures, organic shapes and colours, 101 Copenhagen presents the epitome of classics and must-have novelties for Scandinavian and international interior connoisseurs.

101 Copenhagen’s design is firmly rooted in Scandinavian soil and nourished by Japanese minimalist aesthetics. The intersection of north and east emphasizes quality materials, technology and tradition throughout 101 Copenhagen's collections. The design approach is dynamic and characterized by freedom of expression - creating unique and timeless pieces without compromising on fun and personalization.

our designers

Attention to detail and a shared sense of aesthetic are what drive Tommy Hyldahl and Kristian Sofus Hansen, 101 Copenhagen's two main designers. Combining their respective backgrounds and experiences in fashion, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and travels to Japan, a narrative of minimalism, sculpture, and conceptual design is evident throughout the collection.

Translating and adapting simple inspirations from Japan in a Scandinavian context is about respecting quality, tradition and materiality, while never compromising on form and function. The third designer, Nicolaj Nøddesbo, trained as an architect, adds a knowledge of innovative lighting solutions and timeless novelty to the 101 Copenhagen collection. 101 Copenhagen is a carefully selected collection of tactile and bold objects that stand out from the crowd and come together as a whole.

sustainability

101 Copenhagen is committed to creating products that are durable and timeless in design. With a passion for exquisite materials, textured colors and organic shapes, we have developed long-term partnerships with a few selected suppliers to produce high-quality and durable products.

Our collection focuses on natural materials, featuring ceramic, concrete and metal.

Together with our suppliers, we continuously optimize our products according to the latest environmentally friendly and sustainable production standards. This also includes optimizing current materials and finding alternative materials with the same durability using a circular economy mindset so we can guarantee materials and products with better EOL “end-of-life” potential.

Our ceramic products are made from 100% ceramic and the paint does not contain any harmful chemicals.

We work hard to optimize our fiber concrete products so the concrete mix is polyester-free.
